FLORIDA’S FIRE MARSHALS TO RECEIVE HYDROGEN ENERGY TRAINING

--Hands-on approach demonstrates safety of cutting-edge technology--

 

OCALA— The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will gather fire marshals from around the state on Wednesday, March 2nd, for a first hand look at hydrogen energy.  Florida’s energy future will be demonstrated through presentations covering the manufacture and safety of hydrogen to a hands-on showcase of vehicles and fueling.

 The training will feature presentations by the Florida Division of State Fire Marshal, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Air Products, BP America, ChevronTexaco, Ford, Plug Power, NASA/Kennedy Space Center and Hydrogenics.  An Air Products liquid hydrogen fuel tanker and gaseous hydrogen tube trailer and two Ford hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will allow participants to touch and even drive the new technology.
